Olympus 20 meter sashiko thread skeins have a soft matt finish and are about the weight of 5 perle cotton. I think Olympus sashiko threads get prettier with repeat washing. It has been deliberately designed to leave the cotton fibres open enough to improve with washing. The thread will become smoother and plumper adding to the distinctive little ‘rice like’ sashiko stitches.
